Creating a Culture of Wellness
Yoga has long since been proven as a great way to lengthen and strengthen muscles to reduce discomfort and increase flexibility. In recent years, more and more research is being done and the results show that the benefits of Yoga go much deeper. Studies by many esteemed universities, as well as the National Institute of Health have shown the positive effects that a Yoga and mindfulness practice have on mental alertness, stress relief, focus, and immune system function. Also, it just makes you feel good. We are working in increasingly stressful conditions, largely due to our current economic climate. Many are struggling with increased work load, and the issue of job security. This puts pressure on personal lives, which in turn, puts pressure on co-worker relations. This adds up to stress, which weakens the immune system, translating into to more sick time, and contributing to becoming distracted and disgruntled. Productivity decreases as does company morale and client satisfaction. It’s a cycle from which no one truly benefits.
By bringing Yoga into your workplace as an employer, you are making an investment into your business. You are demonstrating a concern for your employees which immediately results in increased morale. By giving your employees tools to manage their stress, take care of their bodies, and improve their mental focus, you are setting them up for better organization, engagement, and productivity. You are also providing a team-building activity that results in improved interpersonal relations. Corporate culture improves which translates into higher rates of client satisfaction. Win-Win
By bringing Yoga into your workplace as an employee, you are making an investment in yourself. You get Yoga, tailored to your needs, at a time convenient for you, right at your workplace. By splitting the cost between a few co-workers, you get a team-building experience that is so much more beneficial than happy hour, with more stress-relief, for a smaller financial investment!
